TagEnergy Development UK has made its inaugural investment in the UK wind energy sector by acquiring four mid-stage wind farm projects in Scotland, totaling nearly 300 megawatts (MW) of potential energy generation. The projects, which include Cairnmore Hill in Caithness, Glenburnie in the Scottish Borders, Sclenteuch in East Ayrshire, and Torfichen in Midlothian, were purchased from the independent renewable energy company RES.

This acquisition is significant as it reflects TagEnergy’s strategy to expand its portfolio in clean energy generation and battery storage during a pivotal phase of the UK’s energy transition. The move comes at a time when the country is increasingly focused on renewable energy sources to meet its climate goals and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

Natural Power, a consultancy specializing in renewable energy, provided technical due diligence for the acquisition, ensuring that the selected projects meet the necessary quality and performance standards. Gregory Dudziak, the European Director of Advisory at Natural Power, emphasized the potential of these sites to contribute significantly to the UK’s clean energy generation capacity.
