Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) together with Siemens Energy have today (22 February) announced the successful demonstration of running an aero-derived gas turbine on green methanol. The world first pilot, at the RWG facility in Aberdeen, creates the potential for significant reductions in offshore CO2 emissions.  The use of green methanol could cut carbon dioxide emissions by up to 75% compared to conventional fuels across the UKCS. Brisbane, 21 February 2023: Cubico Sustainable Investments (Cubico) and Stanwell Corporation (Stanwell) have announced that construction of stage 1 of the Wambo Wind Farm in Queensland’s Western Downs will start this year. The 252 MW first stage, which will see the construction of 42 of Vestas’ V162-6.0 MW™ wind turbines, is expected to start in Q2, reaching completion in late 2025.
