The WindEurope Annual Event 2026 is scheduled to take place in Madrid this April, expecting to draw more than 16,000 participants and over 500 exhibitors from across the wind energy sector. This gathering aims to facilitate networking among industry stakeholders, foster new business opportunities, and discuss the role of wind energy in achieving a more sustainable and competitive Europe.

Among the notable figures supporting the event are four prominent ambassadors from leading energy companies. EDP, recognized as one of the world’s greenest utilities, boasts an installed capacity of 32 GW, with nearly 90% of its generation coming from renewable sources. The company is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 and emphasizes its role in promoting decarbonization and sustainable practices.

Iberdrola, another key player, is a global leader in clean energy and aims to reach 100,000 MW of renewable energy capacity. With a presence in numerous countries, Iberdrola is recognized for its innovative and sustainable business model, which is essential for the ongoing electrification of the energy sector.

RWE, with a workforce of approximately 20,000 across nearly 30 countries, is heavily investing in wind, solar, and storage solutions. The company is transitioning away from coal by 2030 and has set a target for net-zero emissions by 2040, aligning its operations with the broader energy transition goals.

Siemens Gamesa, a veteran in the wind industry with over 40 years of experience, has installed 148 GW of wind energy capacity and employs around 29,000 experts. The company focuses on delivering reliable wind energy solutions and is actively engaged in addressing the climate crisis through the provision of clean and affordable energy.

As the event approaches, exhibition spaces are reportedly selling quickly, highlighting the industry’s eagerness to participate in this significant gathering. The event not only serves as a platform for showcasing innovations and solutions but also as a critical venue for discussions on the future of wind energy in Europe and beyond.
