International service group TÜV SÜD has certified a solar park operated by Green Vision Seven SRL at the Romanian town of Ucea de Sus.

The new photovoltaic power station is among the largest in Romania, with a nominal power rating of 55 MWp. The certificate was presented at Intersolar Europe 2014 in Munich on 5 June 2014.

The photovoltaic power station at Ucea de Sus is near the southern Carpathian Mountains in the centre of Romania. Its 226,000 ultra-modern polycrystalline photovoltaic modules manufactured by Hareon Solar have a nominal power rating of 55 MWp and are planned to generate around 60 GWh of electricity per year. The wide-ranging certification issued by TÜV SÜD was carried out on the basis of the EN 62446:2010-7 standard for grid-connected photovoltaic systems and standards EN 1990 to 1999 and EN 1090 for steel and aluminium structures. The TÜV SÜD experts also examined plant performance on the basis of EN 61724. Performance assessment applied the same approaches as those used in TÜV SÜD’s new service, PV Performance Guard. Developed in-house at TÜV SÜD and launched at Intersolar Europe 2014, PV Performance Guard is based on the ratio of theoretical to actual output.

“We were delighted to be commissioned by Green Vision Seven to complete this extensive certification process”, said Dr Ondřej Vaculin from TÜV SÜD Czech s.r.o. “After reviewing the documentation and conducting an on-site inspection of the plant, we were able to issue a certificate confirming that the photovoltaic power station at Ucea de Sus fulfils all requirements concerning safe operation set forth in international standards, and that the power station delivers a high level of performance.”

“We have worked with TÜV SÜD for a long time and value the company’s expertise, which provides us with important confirmation of the quality of our plant design and construction”, explained Damian Dillon, Sales Director at Hareon Solar, who accepted the certificate on behalf of Green Vision Seven. “The final analysis and evaluation of performance provides a basis of mutual trust for our investors, insurers and other partners.”
