Burnaby, Canada, April 22, 2015 — Schneider Electric™ Solar Business, a global leader in solutions for the solar power conversion chain, has been awarded a 50 MW contract for a solar project in eastern US.
This contract follows Schneider Electric’s recent 300 MW project win for the largest PV power plant in Europe to be built in Cestas, France. Schneider Electric was also recently named by IHS as one of the top 3 companies for market share gains in the first three quarters of 2014.
For this project, Schneider Electric’s Conext Core XC-NA inverters will be installed.
“The Conext Core XC inverter platform has received very positive feedback from customers and utilities for its capability to meet both current and future grid requirements; from reactive power compensation day and night, to voltage and frequency ride through and regulation – even on less stable island grids, such as Puerto Rico,” said Serge Goldenberg, head of the Schneider Electric Solar Business unit.
Schneider Electric has contracted 2.4 GW of this latest generation 1000V inverter platform, Conext Core XC, of which 1.7 GW have been installed.
