LG Electronics presents new product line-up

LG solar panels

LG solar panels

London, 13 May 2019LG Electronics, the world’s leading supplier of solar panel solutions, has announced that it will showcase its new product portfolio at Intersolar Europe 2019 (15-17 May) in Munich. Panels present include the Neon 2, Neon 2 BiFacial and Neon R of the V5 series.

LG will also be demonstrating the LG ESS Home 8 and Home 10 variants, as well as the LG Smart Energy Package. This consists of top of the range LG solar panels, the LG ESS storage system and the LG heat pump. Intersolar provides an opportunity for LG to discuss products with partners and customers, and explain why the company has seen YoY sales increase by 70% in 2019.

Optimised performance – the new V5 series

Back in January, LG announced the launch of the new V5 series for the LG NeON 2 and LG NeON 2 Black panels. This saw increased performance as well as new and improved guarantees offered by LG.

From May, the LG Neon R high performance panels will receive the same update, completing the transition from the A5 to the V5 series. As already promised for the two panels unveiled in January, LG is promising increased investment security for the LG NeON R range and a linear performance guarantee with at least 90.8 percent performance after 25 years.

LG has also succeeded in significantly improving the output of its solar panels – the bifacial panels have a performance of 400 Wp on the front of the modules alone. The complete V5 series will be available to view at LG Electronic’s stand in Hall A2, stand 280.

Unveiling of the new LG ESS Home 8/10 and the LG Home Energy Package

Alongside the new solar panels, LG’s new Home 8 and Home 10 energy storage systems will be presented as well as the existing LG ESS Home 5.

LG’s DC-coupled ESS stores electricity more efficiently than the AC-coupled ESS, increasing their effectiveness. As well as this, the LG ESS is equipped with 3 MPP trackers which generate a three-phase alternating current, so that no unbalanced loads occur. There is also an optional switch which can be installed which ensures that the storage system can maintain a power supply even in the event of a power cut. Solar energy can also be stored in batteries of 7, 9.8, 14, 16.8 or 19.6 kWh. The complete system comes with a 10-year warranty.

The third new release is the LG Home Energy Package. This latest release in the generation of LG Solar combines the LG ESS storage system with the LG Therma V air-to-water heat pump, opening the possibility of a holistic system for generating electricity and heat from a single source.

“Our new product portfolio is a sign that our customers are investing in advanced and durable technologies,” said Michael Harre, vice president of the EU Solar Business Group at LG Electronics Germany. “We are constantly working to provide the market with highly thought-out, reliable and powerful technology for the production of sustainable energy and look forward to speaking with partners and prospects at Intersolar Europe.”
