Eco Energy World has cemented its position in the UK renewable sector and secured additional funding for future developments by selling a 56 MW portfolio of four solar projects. The established renewable energy company has sold sites currently under construction in Swindon, Wiltshire, North Devon and on the Essex/Suffolk border. These projects are expected to be operational by March 2014.
Eco Energy World’s restructure of its solar operations comes as part of plans to develop more than 200 MW of solar projects across Europe – including 80 MW of developments in the UK – during 2014.
Svante Kumlin, Chairman at Eco Energy World, which operates from offices in London, Monaco and Moscow, said: “This sale reinforces our position in the UK and European renewable energy industry and provides us with the perfect platform to continue to expand our solar PV operations in 2014 and beyond.
“To date, we have developed several hundred MW of solar projects across Europe. We currently have 15 projects across the UK which are at various stages of the planning process are in the process of adding to this number while continuing to harness green technology as efficiently and effectively as possible.
“We are committed to making a significant contribution towards helping the UK meet its renewable energy targets and reduce our reliance on rapidly-diminishing fossil fuels.”
