Affinity Wind, LLC, a St. Louis based wind energy development company, today announced that it has reached an agreement to form a joint venture with Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation.
Suzlon will co-develop with Affinity Wind its project located in Illinois, and the agreement contemplates similar joint development of future Affinity Wind projects. Suzlon will also be responsible for turbine supply to this first project, and potential future projects.
Trey Goede, Chief Executive Officer of Affinity Wind, stated, “Speaking for the entire Affinity Wind team, we are thrilled to be partnering with this world class turbine manufacturer on our important Illinois project. We look forward to making this relationship a long-term success for both partners.” Goede went on to say that “Suzlon’s commitment will help facilitate our development timeline, which includes commercial operation of the initial phase of our project in 2011.”
