Vestas has received two orders from key account EDF Energies Nouvelles for a total capacity of 62 MW.
Vestas, the world leader in wind energy, has received two orders from key account EDF Energies Nouvelles for delivery of 19 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines for the Gargano wind farm in Apulia, Italy, and for 12 V90-2.0 MW turbines for the Eckolstädt wind farm, in Thüringen, Germany, for a total capacity of 62 MW.
Both orders have been placed by EDF Energies Nouvelles, a leader in renewable energy, as part of the binding share of wallet agreement signed in June 2011 with Vestas. Through the agreement for the years 2012-2014, EDF Energies Nouvelles and its US subsidiary, committed to purchase Vestas wind turbines for a minimum of 50 per cent of all its future onshore wind installations in Europe and for a minimum of 30 per cent in the United States.
The Italian order comprises supply, installation and commissioning of 19 units of the V90-2.0 MW, a Vestas Online® Business SCADA and full scope AOM 4000 (Active Output Management) agreement.
The wind turbines will be delivered in July 2012, and commissioning is expected to start in October 2012.
The German order comprises supply, installation and delivery of 12 V90-2.0 MW, a Vestas Online® Business SCADA and a full scope AOM 4000 (Active Output Management) agreement.
The wind turbines will be delivered in August 2012, and commissioning of the wind turbines is expected to start in September 2012 with completion before the end of 2012.
The AOM 4000 service consist of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and consumables, which offers solid risk management for customers who want an availability guarantee measured against an agreed threshold. This type of contract offers customers assured performance avoiding unforeseen operational costs of any kind.
