Russian state-owned vegetable supplier, Teplichnoe will install three GE natural gas-fired, Jenbacher cogeneration units at its greenhouse production facilities in the city of Saransk.
GE’s 1MW J320 Jenbacher gas engines will power Teplichnoe’s new energy center.
The company is building the new energy center to provide more reliable and cost-effective on-site power and heat for its vegetable production facilities.
These units will provide heat to the food company’s greenhouse facility while the electricity from the plant will support other production activities at the site.
GE will deliver its Jenbacher units to Saransk during the second quarter of 2012.
Scheduled to begin operating in the third quarter of 2012, the new cogeneration plant will utilize a design that offers capacity for future expansion.
The project is being supported by ZAO INTMA, one of GE’s authorized distributors for Jenbacher gas engines in the Russian Federation.
