SolarBOS has expanded operations with a 40,000 ft2 facility in Grand Rapids, MI. The new facility puts SolarBOS within two day’s transit of customers throughout the Eastern half of the US and Canada, and within hours’ transit of many of the company’s key suppliers.
What this adds up to is much faster service for customers, allowing SolarBOS to keep up with exponential growth and the need to service customers with smart, on-the-spot adaptions to solve increasingly complex installation challenges.
The new facility is certified by ETL, and comprises 2,000 ft2 of office space and 38,000 ft2 of manufacturing and inventory space. The Grand Rapids facility represents a three-fold growth in capacity volume for SolarBOS. On board to run the new facility is long-time Livermore Production Manager Ron Skorich, ensuring continuity of the operating procedures and customer-centric culture that have made SolarBOS a leader in its space.
“SolarBOS’ expansion is partly fueled by the strength of the clean energy market, but it also reflects the expertise and drive of our team,” says John Hass, CEO. “As a pure-play solar company, we have the knowledge and flexibility to stay ahead of industry changes. With this larger facility, we’re making an investment that will allow us to grow with our customers while continuing to provide the exceptional level of service they expect from us.”
SolarBOS chose West Michigan for its highly skilled industrial work force, excellent infrastructure, and strong supply chain. The company is working with the Michigan Economic Development Council to hire and train more than 50 employees in the coming months.
SolarBOS’ new facility is located at 2685 Northridge Drive, Grand Rapids, MI 49544.
