Solar Panel Satisfaction Ratings Through the Roof New Study Reveals

  • Solar panel purchases have increased 13% year-on-year

  • 87% of people are either satisfied or very satisfied with their solar panel purchase

  • High energy bills drive low carbon technology adoption across the UK

The Eco Experts latest National Home Energy Survey has revealed high satisfaction rates for domestic solar panels in the UK.

The 2024 National Home Energy Survey of 2,184 UK adults found that of those who had previously bought solar panels, 87% were satisfied with their purchase.

High satisfaction rates are most likely due to energy bill savings from the first day of installation. The average three-bedroom house will enjoy a 50% reduction in energy bills from the first day having operating solar panels.

High energy bills driving low carbon tech adoption

The National Home Energy Survey found that high energy bills were the main driving force behind the UK public adopting green technology.

Energy bill costs have significantly risen in the past few years resulting in households searching for alternative solutions.

Content Manager at The Eco Experts, Maximilian Schwerdtfeger, comments:

“The huge amount of people satisfied with not only solar panels but LCT as a whole is really encouraging, and this should be taken as an endorsement of their potential to cut carbon emissions and energy bills.

“The government has rightly put a big emphasis on renewable energy. Hopefully they will make it easier to install solar panels and increase the number of people who say they’re ‘very satisfied’ with them.”

Managing Director of Project Solar UK, Tom Armstrong, adds:

“It’s incredibly heartening to see that the vast majority of those who invest in low-carbon technologies are extremely satisfied with their choice.

Over the last 13 years, we’ve consistently received the same positive feedback from our customers, who report significant savings on energy costs and a notable boost in efficiency thanks to their solar panels.”
