Comprehensive Solution Formed for Biofuels Project Evaluations .
ATLANTA & GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ScottMadden, Inc., a leading general management consulting firm in the energy industry, and Ascendant Partners, Inc., a leading provider of professional capital and consulting solutions within the bioenergy industry, today announce a new biofuels project evaluation and due diligence service designed to assist the bioenergy industry by conducting comprehensive feasibility studies, evaluating project strategies, developing complete actionable business plans and raising the capital required to fund project development.
“From our work on these projects, we have developed a unique competency and methodology for assessing bioenergy commercialization success factors”
The U.S. Department of Energy has evaluated a number of biofuels applications for the 1705 Loan Guarantee program and the ScottMadden/Ascendant team has performed the market assessment of the majority of these projects. These projects have been conducted for advanced biofuels projects across the bioenergy value chain, focusing on the feedstock supply, transport, fuel transport & distribution and fuel markets as well as the financial viability of the projects.
In addition to DOE loan guarantee program, ScottMadden and Ascendant Partners have performed over a hundred due-diligence projects for the investment banker community, venture capital firms, utilities and project developers, ranging from biomass generation plants, to biomass-based diesel projects, to cellulosic ethanol projects, to cellulosic biofuels projects producing crude oil substitute products.
“From our work on these projects, we have developed a unique competency and methodology for assessing bioenergy commercialization success factors,” said Jake Jacobi, partner and Clean Tech & Infrastructure practice lead at ScottMadden. “Our experience provides us with a vantage point for bioenergy project due diligence that few other consulting companies possess.”
“We are able to see past the projections and drill into the specific project drivers and success factors that are crucial to a successful due diligence project,” said Mark Warren, partner/principal at Ascendant Partners. “Clients are assisted in business life cycle issues that improve financial returns by better matching the means of production with the needs of the marketplace.”
