In a significant advancement for renewable energy technology, RENOLIT, a German company specializing in high-quality polymer films, has entered into a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with Power Roll, a UK-based innovator in lightweight flexible solar film. This partnership, established on November 10, 2025, will facilitate one of the first outdoor commercial trials of Power Roll’s solar film at RENOLIT’s facilities in Germany.

The agreement spans 18 months and aims to rigorously test Power Roll’s microgroove solar film under real-world conditions. This initiative is crucial for validating the film’s performance and durability on a larger scale, which is essential for its commercial viability. The technology is designed to convert rooftops and other surfaces into efficient clean energy generators, potentially transforming the landscape of solar energy adoption.

Daniel Spang, an innovation expert at RENOLIT and the project lead, expressed enthusiasm about the pilot project, highlighting the unique nature of this collaboration and the potential impact of the technology on the renewable energy market.
