NMDC Group and Vingroup have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will see the two companies collaborating on sustainable coastal land development and offshore wind projects in Vietnam.
“Through this collaboration, we will undertake large-scale coastal protection, land reclamation projects, and the development of offshore wind and renewable energy in Vietnam, employing our advanced marine engineering solutions to promote environmental sustainability and enhance long-term coastal resilience”, NMDC Group said in a social media post[1] on 31 October.
The Abu Dhabi-based company has already logged work in the offshore wind sector having completed a contract on the Yunlin project in Taiwan, where NMDC Energy was installing the monopile foundations[2]. The 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind farm is now fully built with the last of its 80 wind turbines installed this October.
As for Vingroup, in addition to NMDC Group, the Hanoi-based company recently signed MOUs with two other partners in the UAE, AD Ports Group and Benya Technologies.
AD Ports Group and Vingroup will explore opportunities to collaborate in the joint development of shipyard building capabilities, logistics ecosystems, and seaport operations. With Benya Technologies, Vingroup teamed up to assess the feasibility and develop plans for several projects, including a hyper-scale data centre and related technical, power, and water treatment infrastructure.
