On January 12, 2026, Paris will host a national networking and information day focused on European project calls for the bioeconomy sector. The event will take place at the Amphithéâtre Henri Poincaré, located at 25 rue de la Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, in collaboration with the Bioeconomy For Change competitiveness cluster, the event aims to equip French stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and tools to successfully engage in European funding programs. The focus will be on the Circular Bio-Based Europe (CBE JU) initiative, which supports collaborative projects aimed at advancing the bioeconomy through research and innovation.
The CBE JU is a public-private partnership established under Horizon Europe, with a budget of 2 billion euros. It seeks to foster the transition towards a circular and sustainable bioeconomy by funding projects that bring together industry, research, and resource producers. This initiative follows the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU) and was launched in 2021 for a ten-year period.
Participants can expect a comprehensive agenda that includes a plenary session introducing the CBE JU program and its work plan for 2026, along with testimonials from project coordinators. Additionally, there will be discussions on other relevant calls within Horizon Europe, particularly those related to circular economy and bioeconomy initiatives.
The event will also feature workshops aimed at helping participants decode the application process and position themselves effectively within the competitive landscape of European funding.
Registration for the event is free but mandatory, and it provides a valuable opportunity for networking and collaboration among stakeholders in the bioeconomy sector. The publication of project calls for 2026 is expected in December 2025, with project submissions opening in April and closing in September 2026.
