Iberdrola Renovables has commissioned the O Vieiro wind farm located between the Bande and Verea municipalities in the province of Orense, Spain, with an installed capacity of 11.9MW.

The new wind power installation, which entailed an investment of E15 million, will produce approximately 45,000MWh, enough to meet the annual energy needs of 40,000 people.

The O Vieiro wind farm was built in 14 months and has 14 wind turbine generators. With the start-up of this new facility, Iberdrola Renovables has consolidated its presence in the wind energy sector in Galicia, where it currently operates 15 wind farms producing 600MW of power.
