First solar thermal product for the North American market
GLE Solar Energy, a division of Great Lakes Electric, has launched its first solar thermal product for the North American market. The unit’s design, which is based on a technology utilized in Germany and China that has been in production for over three years, does not require being mounted on the roof.
With the units mounted in a vertical position, the collector tubes offer 360-degree solar absorption. The collector technology and heat transfer design offer a longer collection time per day and reduce heat loss improving overall hot water production, according to the company.
Providing as much as 92,000 BTUs per panel per day, the units can be used in residential and commercial applications.
