Evance Wind Turbines, a world leading manufacturer of small wind turbines, has added a new system to its R9000 series for customers in remote areas across the UK with G83 connections.
Evance’s new R9000 Grid+ system enables the maximum energy from the 5kW R9000 turbine to be captured and used, while only allowing 3.68kW to be connected to the grid, so complying with the requirements of G83.
“In many remote areas across the UK generation connections are limited to G83 – effectively creating a barrier to the adoption of small wind. To solve this problem we have introduced our new R9000 Grid+ system,” explains Kevin Parslow, CEO of Evance Wind Turbines.
“We have worked with a number of Distribution Network Operators and thorough testing has proved our system meets their requirements. So by installing a R9000 Grid+ system residents will be able to enjoy the same renewable energy benefits already being enjoyed by others across the UK.”
The MCS certified R9000 Grid+ system utilises a newly designed intelligent controller which enables 3.68kW to be connected to the grid and any additional grid quality power – potentially 1.4kW – to be automatically directed for another use, such as space or water heating. So customers with a G83 connection can now take advantage of the maximum 5kW output from the Evance small wind turbine.
