The renewable energy business enXco Inc. started generating energy at a $300 million wind project in Solano County
EDF Energies Nouvelles, the French parent company of Escondido-based enXco, said that it has started commercial operation of the 150-megawatt Shiloh II wind farm. EnXco plans a dedication ceremony Thursday.
The wind farm has 75 turbines, each generating up to 2 megawatts. It produces enough energy for 74,000 homes. The U.S. subsidiary has a 20-year contract to sell the power to Pacific Gas and Electric Co.
New York Life Insurance Co. has a minority stake in the project.
The project was also funded by NORD/LB Norddeutsche Landesbank of Germany, Bank CIC (Schweiz) AG of Switzerland, Dexia SA of Belgium, Société Générale of France, a group of investors led by JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Wells Fargo.
