Enray Power has completed the acquisition of two significant solar farms in the UK, namely the Firsfield Solar Farm in West Suffolk and the Osgodby Solar Farm in North Yorkshire. The Firsfield facility boasts a capacity of 71 MWp, while Osgodby contributes an additional 63 MWp, bringing the total clean energy capacity from these sites to over 134 MWp.
Natural Power, a consultancy specializing in renewable energy, played a crucial role in this acquisition by providing comprehensive technical due diligence. This involved an in-depth analysis of various factors including site constraints, grid connection arrangements, the capabilities of EPC contractors, and compliance with environmental and planning regulations. Such thorough evaluations were essential for Enray Power as they navigated the complexities of this transaction.
William Delabre, the Technical Director for Solar at Natural Power, expressed pride in supporting Enray Power, emphasizing the importance of detailed assessments in ensuring the integrity of renewable energy assets. The careful selection of both sites was based on their grid strength, land suitability, and potential for long-term ecological benefits, which will be enhanced through stewardship and habitat management plans.
The acquisition aligns with the UK’s broader goals for achieving net-zero emissions, as both solar farms are expected to contribute significantly to local energy needs while supporting environmental sustainability. Philip Price, CEO of Enray Power, acknowledged the invaluable guidance provided by Natural Power, highlighting the importance of maintaining robust quality controls and optimizing commercial performance in renewable energy projects.
As solar power continues to dominate the renewable energy sector globally, Enray Power, founded in 2020, aims to develop, own, and operate solar photovoltaic and battery storage projects that contribute to a sustainable future. With this acquisition, both Firsfield and Osgodby Solar Farms are now poised to enter the delivery phase, marking a significant step forward in Enray Power’s mission to integrate clean energy solutions with community and environmental needs.
