Two contracts worth around €30 millions.

Alstom has signed two contracts1 totalling around €30 million with Investment Engineering, a renewable energy developer in the Netherlands, for the delivery, installation and commissioning of ECO 110 wind turbines at the Hartelkanaal wind farm – located in the Port of Rotterdam. Alstom will also provide 15 years Operation and Maintenance service. This wind farm will have an installed capacity of 24 MW, due to its location this amount of power can bring electricity to more than 20,000 households.

“We are delighted to be working on such a project. Signing the Hartelkanaal contract highlights the good partnership we established with Investment Engineering and is a significant step for Alstom in the wind market in the Netherlands. This further reiterates the leading technology and products that Alstom provides, and we look forward to enhancing and growing our service business ” says Maurits Ornstein, Country Director for Alstom Power.

“We have selected Alstom because of the best price performance ratio during the tender, the low noise emission of the ECO110 and the financially strong Group”, says Luc Schürmann, Managing Director of Investment Engineering.

The Alstom ECO 110 wind turbine has one of the largest rotors available for class II sites (medium speed wind) to maximize the energy yield of the wind farm. Alstom turbines use the unique Alstom Pure Torque™ drive train concept that protects the gearbox. The ECO 110 is part of Alstom’s proven ECO 100 platform, the result of more than 30 years of experience in wind turbine design. Alstom has installed or is installing more than 2500 wind turbines, delivering more than 4,000 MW of power from over 150 different wind farms.

1The contracts have been booked during the third quarter of fiscal year 2013/2014.
