Egyptian Electricity Minister Hassan Younis attended on July 19th 2010 the signing of a contract for the consultancy services of the field measurements of the first wind energy farm to be set up in the Gulf of Suez.
The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company was authorized by the ten international consortiums that were chosen to carry out the project to sign the contract, Younis said.
The winner consortiums have already paid the value of the contract and other necessary fees, estimated at six million pounds, he added.
The 250 megawatt farm is the first plant to be set up under the B.O.O.T. system, the minister said. (SIS)
