The Chinese inverter maker has signed another supply deal with the Superblock utility group, bringing its total 2015 shipments to Thailand to 130.5 MW.
Sungrow has signed a second supply agreement with Thai utility group Superblock Pcl for a further 55 MW of PV inverters for multiple solar projects in Thailand.
The deal follows a 75 MW inverter supply agreement the Chinese manufacturer signed with Superblock in June, bringing its total inverter shipments to the Southeast Asian country to 130.5 MW this year.
Superblock also said in June that it would invest nearly $900 million this year in solar energy projects and last week announced the acquisition of five solar power producers for some $396 million, according to the DealStreetAsia news website, which cited a Superblock report filed with to the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The five PV power producers have a combined electricity production capacity of 290.05 MW.
Sungrow said it would provide a package solution, including 60 central inverter stations, 604 units of PV combiner boxes and 60 units of data monitoring loggers for the Superblock projects. The company began shipping the equipment in September; the entire project scheduled to be completed and in operation by the end of the year.
Sungrow CEO Cao Renxian said the latest agreement with the Thai utility underscored the company’s “strength of technology and products. The chief exec added witih this project, Sungrow would continue to show that the company’s fully integrated solution ensured “a high level of quality, reliability and compatibility for the customer.”
Superblock CEO Jormsup Lochaya added that the utility was looking for high-quality, compact PV power solutions provided by a reliable and sustainable partner for its hundreds of mega solar projects.
