Scheuten Solar has realized several turnkey PV-systems consisting of approximately 14,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels for Natuzzi SpA, Italy’s largest furniture manufacturer. In addition to an EPC-contract (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) an operation & maintenance contract was signed. The projects were realized within a time span of 2,5 months on rooftops of various Natuzzi offices in Santeramo in Colle, Matera and Laterza.
Natuzzi designs, produces and markets sofas, armchairs and living room accessories. Natuzzi is the largest Italian furniture company with a turnover of euro 515.4 million in 2009. In 1993, Natuzzi Group became the only foreign furniture company to be listed on Wall Street. The installation accounts for an annual reduction in CO2 emissions of approximately 3400 tonnes. This results in a significant contribution towards the sustainable nature of Natuzzi.
Pasquale Natuzzi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Natuzzi S.p.A., commented: “Our commitment to sustainable development is a responsibility, but also an opportunity. It expresses a forward-looking investment which is fundamental to every company’s continuity. I’m pleased with the cooperation between Scheuten and Natuzzi. Thanks to their flexibility we were able to have the systems up and running within two-and-a-half months from the moment we signed the contract to fulfillment.”
“I’m very proud to have realized a project of this scale with an established company like Natuzzi. Working together with this well renowned partner is a boost for further activities in Italy”, stated Ad Verbaas, Director Project Realization Scheuten Solar.
