Acquisition of leading provider of fluid applied solar roof coatings will create cost savings for customers.
Equal Earth today announced that it has acquired Oahu-based Kolona, a leading provider of fluid applied roof coatings for solar photovoltaic and solar hot water systems, for an undisclosed amount. This latest acquisition supports Equal Earth’s vertical integration strategy and further expands the firm’s services and expertise in photovoltaic and solar hot water projects.
The combined company will create cost savings and provide customers with the convenience of a wide range of renewable energy solutions and related services available under one roof. With an operating history spanning 22 years and a customer list that includes the US Army, the US Department of Education and various well-known private companies, the Kolona acquisition creates new synergies for the business.
“This acquisition is a natural fit for us and an important part of our vertical integration strategy,” said Equal Earth Chairman, President and CEO, Andrew Duggan. “We are excited to welcome the talented Kolona team to Equal Earth,” added Duggan.
“Equal Earth has the right team, the right mission and the right strategy,” commented CEO Blake Kolona who joins Equal Earth as part of the transaction. “The combined company will create a stronger foundation for our customers going forward.”
