Vestas has awarded Dong Fang Offshore (DFO) a contract to provide a service operations vessel (SOV) for the Changfang-Xidao and Zhong Neng offshore wind projects in Taiwan. Under the twelve-year contract, Dong Fang Offshore will provide an SOV for supporting the operations and maintenance (O&M) phase of the 600 MW Changfang-Xidao and the 300 Zhong Neng projects. Acciona Energía has expanded its presence in the US renewables market with the acquisition of two 150MW wind farms in Texas. The company has paid $202.5 million for the Green Pastures I and Green Pastures II wind farms from Capital Dynamics. After the Swedish government rejected 13 offshore wind projects due to defence concerns, the European wind energy industry organisation, WindEurope, issued a press release saying the decision was “highly problematic”. “Yet again Sweden is bottom of the class on offshore wind. The U.S. exported 148.49 million gallons of ethanol and 1.01 million metric tons of distillers grains in September, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on November 5. While ethanol exports saw a noticeable increase, distillers grains exports were slightly lower compared to previous months, reported Ethanol Producer.
