Cambridge-based Sitec Infrastructure Services, a major service provider to the telecoms and renewable energy infrastructure markets, has strengthened its renewable energy portfolio by adding the ‘Evoco 10’ wind turbine to its range.
Sitec is now an approved installer and distributor for UK manufacturer, Evoco Energy, and this latest addition enhances the firm’s position in the renewable energy market, one which already includes a number of revolutionary mid-sized vertical and horizontal axis wind turbines and Solar PV systems.
Chris Evans, a Director at Sitec, said he was delighted to have added the Evoco Energy brand to the company’s stable.
“Evoco is a leader in the development of next generation wind turbines, which are specifically designed for the small wind sector and offer unrivalled performance and financial return.
“The ‘Evoco 10’ is 17m to 19m high with a 9.7m rotor diameter and can generate up to around 10 households’ annual electricity requirement. The product has been MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) accredited and will benefit hugely from the government backed Feed-In Tariffs.”
Evoco, based in West Yorkshire has been business for thirty years and offers a five year guarantee on its products.
“Taking on the ‘Evoco 10’ is a significant step in the expansion of our renewables offering”, adds Chris.
“We’re now the region’s leading service provider in the delivery of quality, sustainable infrastructure networks, and with green power at the top of everyone’s energy agenda, we anticipate that growth will continue.
“Wind turbines make good economic sense. Under the new Feed-In Tariff scheme, owners of small wind turbines can claim a tax free reward for every unit of energy generated, whether it’s used by the owner or exported onto the National Grid. An ‘Evoco 10’ owner, for example, would earn 28p per unit and a further 3.1p per unit if electricity is exported to the grid.
“And not only that, but they’re generating carbon-free energy and helping the country to meet its renewable energy commitments.”
