The international capital market is getting more and more demanding when it comes to good corporate communications.
Transparency and a credible equity story are an important basis for corporate value. SolarWorld AG has again received accolades for its financial reporting. In the prestigious “Best Annual Reports“ competition by Manager Magazin, the company came first in the TecDAX category and eighth in the overall ranking of 160 participating companies. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Manager Magazin extensively reports in its current edition about the competition and the results. For the ranking, the annual reports of the most important companies listed on the DAX, MDAX, SDAX and TecDAX were analyzed. According to Manager Magazin, this makes the competition the most comprehensive one in Germany and one of the largest ones worldwide. Scores were awarded in the categories content, design and language. The contest took place under the scientific guidance of Professor Jörg Baetge of the University of Münster. Design was judged by Gisela Grosse, Professor for Corporate Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Münster. Language was analyzed by Rudi Keller, Professor of the German Language Seminar at the University of Düsseldorf. The four best reports within each index category were additionally checked by an expert jury for conciseness, credibility and reporting efficiency.
SolarWorld AG also attaches particular importance to its online communications. “The further expansion of all communications channels is a strategic must”, explains Philipp Koecke, chief financial officer of SolarWorld AG. “We are a group of companies with international operations. Especially with a view to our foreign investors and a global public we must meet the increased demands for information on the internet.” The online report for fiscal year 2009 received several awards, for example the LACP Award in gold and more recently an award in the Annual Report Competition by MerCom Inc./The International Academy of Arts & Sciences.
