The Shaw Group Inc. (NYSE: SHAW) today announced it has been awarded a contract to erect five heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) boilers for Alstom Power, the main engineering, procurement and construction contractor to RWE npower for the 2,160-MW Pembroke power plant, the largest and most efficient combined-cycle gas-fired power station in the U.K.
Shaw will erect and install the boilers at the Pembroke power plant located in South West Wales. Shaw’s team is one of the most experienced constructors of large-scale boilers in the U.K. and has installed gas-turbine equipment totaling 9,000 MW in the last 15 years. During that same time period, Shaw has worked with Alstom on more than 40 projects in the U.K. ranging in size and value.
