RenewableUK expresses concern about onshore wind measures announced in the Queen’s Speech

RenewableUK, the trade association representing the wind, wave and tidal energy industries, has expressed concern about new planning rules affecting onshore wind which have been announced in the Queen’s Speech.
Under the proposals in a new Energy Bill, onshore wind farms with an installed capacity of 50 megawatts or greater will be determined at local authority level in England – unlike other large energy infrastructure projects, which are decided at Ministerial level.
