The solar power plant in Hombourg near Mulhouse (2.9 MWp) was connected to the grid in mid-August 2011.
Paris / Dornach near Munich. Gehrlicher Solar France SAS, the French subsidiary of Gehrlicher Solar AG, the international photovoltaic company, announces today the completion of the second largest roof system in the Alsace region with a total power of 2.9 MWp. The system is constructed on the roofs of seven warehouses belonging to Ecosun Expert in the metropolitan area of Mulhouse. Ecosun Expert is the sole investor in the project.
Gehrlicher Solar France installed, together with the contractor Adsoba, 12,609 modules and 167 inverters across an overall area of 22,000 square metres. With an annual power yield of approx. 2.7 million kilowatt hours, on paper the system can supply approximately a further 1,300 people with power, over and above the 1,000 inhabitants of Hombourg itself.
Wolfgang Rosenberg, Managing Director of Gehrlicher Solar France SAS, stresses the professional cooperation of all those involved and emphasises: “We are pleased to have been able to connect the system to the grid in advance of the planned date and therefore to secure the feed-in tariff of 0.602 euros per kilowatt hour. This project shows the massive potential of the roofs of commercially and industrially used buildings, in particular, for solar generation. We plan to complete further large-scale photovoltaic projects in France in the coming months.”
