Contract streamlines procurement of solar PV systems for Federal agencies striving to meet renewable energy and energy security mandates.
Springfield, N.J. Gehrlicher Solar America Corporation, a leading global photovoltaic (PV) solar energy integrator, announced it has been awarded a five-year General Services Administration (GSA) schedule contract. This extensively used government contract vehicle allows US federal civilian and Department of Defense agencies to secure Gehrlicher Solar’s high performance and cost effective solar PV-centric energy solutions via a schedule of pre-negotiated rates, terms and conditions.
The company’s GSA Facilities Maintenance and Management Schedule 03FAC Contract, Number GS-21F-137AA, is valid through May 31, 2018 and allows for three five-year extension options. Gehrlicher Solar America Corp. is approved by the General Services Administration to provide services under Special Item Numbers (SIN) 871-209, Innovations in Renewable Energy.
Gehrlicher Solar’s partnership with GSA provides opportunities for federal agencies (most of whom are required to adhere to energy security, renewable energy and greenhouse gas emission mandates) to easily contract with Gehrlicher Solar America Corp. for their solar energy solution design, engineering, procurement and construction services. The partnership also provides Gehrlicher Solar with the ability to expand educational efforts by providing detailed, agency location specific information on PV-centric energy solutions which are micro-grid ready and may include battery storage.
“Gehrlicher Solar has 19 year history of delivering cost effective, high value PV-centric energy solutions to governmental and commercial entities in almost 20 countries on rooftops, ground mounts and carports,” explained Gehrlicher Solar America’s Chief Operating Officer Jerry Shinn. “We are excited to bring our efficient expertise to US federal agencies via this efficient contracting mechanism and look forward to working closely with our government counterparts who are striving to reduce energy costs and meet renewable energy mandates.”
The GSA is the primary federal agency tasked with pre-negotiating best price buyer’s contracts to maximize the value and minimize the costs associated with the procurement products and services for all agencies. Pre-qualifying contractors and suppliers, along with negotiating pricing better than or equal to each suppliers most favorable pricing offered to commercial customers, allows government buyers to confidently expedite the purchasing process without a bidding process. Buyers can go to GSA Advantage online shopping and ordering system to purchase direct at the negotiated price.
Further in their effort to efficiently service the US federal government, Gehrlicher Solar America Corp. was also recently awarded a listing on the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Qualified Energy Services Company (ESCO) listing. A DOE appointed Qualification Review Board evaluates applications on the merits of past performance, ability to finance energy services contracts, actual energy savings of past projects and other metrics.
