Delivering a sustainable future is of paramount importance. The UK has made significant inroads into paving the way for low carbon economies and we must not lose the momentum that we have built over recent years.
Envac UK Ltd took part in a national debate on the future of the UK’s waste industry and its ability to harness energy solutions for a low carbon economy with Lord Henley, recycling minister, during the UK Trade & Investment’s Nordic/Baltic Business Conference.
The roundtable debate welcomed leading figures from the waste industry, who discussed the benefits of driving forward low carbon technologies and who addressed the challenges the UK faces in light of current spending cuts.
The session also explored low carbon technologies and their role in developing the renewable energy sector at a regional and national level.
Julian Gaylor, Managing Director of Envac UK Ltd, took part in the debate and said: “Delivering a sustainable future is of paramount importance. The UK has made significant inroads into paving the way for low carbon economies and we must not lose the momentum that we have built over recent years. Envac is one of many companies to demonstrate an innovative approach to technology and the continued support of government will play a huge role in driving this relatively new sector forward.”
The debate formed part of the Growing Business in High Energy Sectors conference, which aimed to build on strong relationships between the Nordic/Baltic countries and the UK.
As a Swedish-owned company, Envac launched in the UK in 2007 and has since played a key role in developing the waste management industry. It is the only underground automated vacuum waste system to operate in the UK and has received recognition for revolutionising the industry. The Envac system has recently been selected for Lewisham’s 30 acre regeneration project, the Surrey Canal Triangle: London’s sporting village.
