An energy company is looking to expand a wind farm north of Helix and increase its energy-generating capacity by 100 megawatts.
FPL Energy is considering two options for expanding production at the Stateline Wind Energy Center. Both would add about 100 megawatts to about 122 megawatts already being generated.
The Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council would need to certify any project before FPL Energy could move forward.
Currently, the council is seeking public comment.
The council had previously approved an expansion of about 184 megawatts worth of turbines. But FPL Energy never built them, and the construction deadline has since passed
