The achieved financing for the project rises to EUR 275 million.
The technology developed by Aries positions the company as the standard of international efficiency in the development of concentrated solar power projects.
Madrid, 03.10.2010.- Aries Ingeniería y Sistemas, together with the Elecnor Group, signed an agreement worth EUR 275 million for the financing of the Astexol-2 concentrated solar power plant, located in Badajoz, Spain. This agreement consolidates the development stage of the project in which Aries has played the role of protagonist with its promotion and engineering of the plant which undoubtedly situates the company among the most advanced in the international concentrated solar power technology field.
The Astexol-2 (50 MW) project is one of the three pre-assigned projects from the Spanish Ministry of Industry, in accordance with the Royal Decree 6/2009. Construction should be completed and the plant should be ready to generate clean energy before December 31st, 2012. In addition to Aries, the Elecnor Group and the backing EISER Global Infrastructure Fund figure in the ownership of the plant.
Aries has also developed two other 50 MW concentrated solar power plants, located in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real, Spain), which also are included in the Ministry´s preassignation and will shortly follow in the footsteps of Astexol-2.
