1st PV Plant Certification in Japan issued by TUV SUD conforming to international standard IEC62446 to West Holdings
0TÜV SÜD Japan Ltd. has issued a Photovoltaic (PV) power plant certification that conforms to the international standard IEC62446 for AIO MS Power Plant (output: 1.414 MW) in Yamaguchi Prefecture which was constructed by one of the biggest EPC contractor in Japan, West Holdings. This is the first case of a mega solar power plant acquiring such certification in Japan and is a pioneering effort.
A PV plant is expected to have a lifetime of decades, generating power with maintenance over the period or modifications at some point of the period. It is always an anxiety of the investors and the developers to minimize the risks in the performance of a PV plant from the view point of the bankability.
The conformity to the international standard IEC62446 assessed neutrally and fairly by an independent third party such as TUV SUD will help the investors and the developers to satisfy such anxieties and to ensure the performance, safety and reliability of a PV plant lasting for such a long term of its lifetime.
AIO MS Power Plant has satisfied the requirements of IEC62446 composed of 2 parts, the system documentation, which defines the minimal information and documentation required to be handed over following the installation of a grid connected PV system, and the verification, which describes the minimum commissioning tests, inspection criteria and documentation expected to verify the safe installation and correct operation of the system. It is evidenced by the certificate that this plant has achieved a certain level of reliability for its long term of lifetime.
